Joshua Pruett

I am a videographer, editor and photographer with a passion for narrative storytelling, focused on creating content that helps grow businesses and tells entertaining, important stories.

How it all started.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my brothers and sisters. We moved around quite a bit so they were my best friends. After awhile, as most kids do, you have to start coming up with creative ways to have fun. For us, it was taking my dad’s video camera and making silly videos.

Eventually I was using my phone, downloading apps, trying little camera tricks. My school didn’t have a club for what I wanted to do, so I did it on my own. I did this until I went to college.

My hobby is my career.

In college my view really expanded. I got to work on bigger projects with more people. My imagination imploded at the thought of what I could do with just a few like-minded people at University.

I started working and making connections with people in my major and ended up working on various shows for ASU-TV, my school’s TV station.

A Shifting Focus.

Eventually I became unhappy not focusing on my own projects, so I took a step back from some of my roles and worked on creating my own stuff.

I started a show for ASU-TV, took up photography as another medium, started a podcast, began working with a few friends on a production company, began making short films and some commercials. All the while I still kept my toes in the water working on projects led by others.

The Rise and Grind.

Today I’ve been lucky enough to commit myself to various areas of media. This has resulted in award-nominated filmmaking, photography and curated writing. I have an all-around passion for creating and bringing ideas to life through a lens.
